The Aquamax KF Pro Oil Auto is a unique coulometric Karl Fischer titrator, boasting a 200 position, syringe injection autosampler with built in analytical balance for sample weighing. Incorporating the heating chamber technique described within ASTM D6304 procedure C, the Aquamax KF Pro Oil enables efficient extraction of water content from fuel and lubricant samples. With the ability to use a closed loop carrier gas, the extracted water can be transferred to the coulometric measuring cell allowing for a clean titration avoiding any potential side reactions which could occur in standard direct injection titrations.
Uniquely, the instrument has a balance built into the coulometer. No more manual weighing on the syringe before and after injection. Simply load the syringe, add to the tray and the weight will be taken directly by the instrument.
By adopting a syringe injection analysis coupled with a heating extraction technique, the accuracy of the coulometry is also increased as shown in the ASTM 6304 studies for procedure C.
To increase the efficiency further, the reagents within the titrator are automatically exchanged once a calculated consumption of water is realised by the titrator. The instrument software has a real time display of the water consumption along with real time alerts to identify when reagent is close to capacity.
All instrument software is compatible with LIMS laboratory software, allowing for complete autonomy for Karl Fischer measurements.
